ProTaper® hand files have exactly the same file design as ProTaper® rotary files, but with silicone handles. They are for clinicians who want to start using NiTi files instead of the more traditional stainless steel files. Even for confident rotary users, they are useful for more difficult cases such as canals with great apical curvature. The silicone handles give better tactile sensation and greater working comfort.
